2/21/05 ~ Ahoy everyone
Hopefully 2005 will be the year that someone in
the United States of America will begin to claim our long lost
clipper ship maritime heritage.
For we ask you all to take a long, hard look upon
any ocean near you and realize that an American
clipper ship is not about to appear out of the ocean mists anytime
soon.
Over the past four years we have done all we could
with this Web site to bring the matter of our long-lost clipper
ship maritime heritage to the attention of the rest of the world.
So it's time to move on with the launching of this book, The
Era of the Clipper Ships: The Legacy of Donald McKay.
The McKay family continues to support all efforts
to build clipper ships, but we are growing rather bored just waiting
around our whole lifetimes for someone to come along and do it,
and we now want to build and launch an American clipper ship "on
spec," , gather up a hearty crew, hoist sails to the highest
of places, and run for the open sea.
So we are changing tack right now and focus on the
launching "on spec," of The Era of the Clipper Ships:
The Legacy of Donald McKay.
You can read all about it on the new Minnehaha
Press Page just posted.
